The North Star (May, 1976, Marauder Era)

Remus sighed happily, leaning on the tower railing. He loved doing this: sneaking out of the dorms to come to the tower. It was so peaceful, especially during new moons like this. He brought his bar of chocolate out of his pocket, breaking himself off a piece and wrapping it back up. He nibbled on it as he named most of the constellations his could see in his mind.

Sirius climbed the stairs to the Astronomy Tower silently, pockets full of dungbombs. From this height, he figured, the explosion should've been large enough to cover quite a good deal of the lakeside bit of the grounds. If he could get it up tonight, and launch it tomorrow...
He paused at the landing. There was someone else... Sirius shrunk into the shadows.

Remus sat down, folding his legs underneath him. He stared at the stars as he broke off more chocolate, moaning slightly as it melted in his mouth. He bloody loved nights like this. Shame everyone else was asleep, though...

Sirius gave a small start. Oh, it's Moony... He looked so peaceful and sweet...
"Hey, Moons!" He stepped into the doorway. Damn you, you can never let someone have a quiet moment, can you?!

Remus was startled by another voice, but, seeing as it was Sirius, quickly brightened. "Sirius!" he smiled softly. "I thought you were asleep!" he said as he motioned Sirius towards himself.

"And I didn't know you were awake!". Even though he totally had. He'd noticed Remus' footsteps as he left, pretending to be asleep. However, he had had no idea Remus had come here. He quickly concealed any visible dungbombs and smiled, walking over to where Remus sat. "What brings you here?"

(Stood? Sat... )
Remus sighed, looking back at the sky. "I do this alot. I come out here to look at the stars every once in a while. It's very relaxing. But sometimes lonely... well, you're here now!" he said as he took Sirius' hand and gently tugged him down.

(YOU DO THE ALOT?! BEASTIALITY! O_O)
Sirius sat down, cross-legged on the floor. He smiled and pecked the other boy on the cheek. Then he looked up. "Wow, the stars really are quite pretty...". He sat back on his hands.

Remus grinned as Sirius sat down, and blushed horribly when the boy kissed him on the cheek. "Yeah... they are..." he unconsciously scooted a little closer to Sirius. "You see those stars there? The ones that make a cross? That's Cygnus. And that one there? The one with the three stars in a row? That's Orion."

His hand slid so his fingers touched Remus'.
"Orion, huh? Like my dad..." He stopped and looked away quickly. "Anyway, I like that Sig-something one." He tried to smile again.

Remus blushed, but didn't move his hand. "Cygnus. You have an uncle named that, or did you forget?" Remus felt- and fought- the inexplicable urge to just be closer to Sirius, to be held by Sirius, to- no. Not yet. He was way too shy to do that.

"Well, he was okay, though. I don't like that star in Orion's arm at all." He pulled a face. "Such a bitch."
He let out a hollow sort of laugh and scooted over so their shoulders touched.

Remus chuckled. "Don't let her hear you say that. She'll prolly bite your dick off. Ergh, that's not a pretty picture..." Remus' heart fluttered, and he leaned a bit on Sirius.

"Ew. Ew, ew, ew. Remus, love, you have scarred my brain. Forever." He laughed again. "And what a shame it would be, too.". He winked, grinning and flipping his long black hair.

Remus laughed happily. "Heh, sorry." Remus looked over at Sirius, and blushes furiously. Oh, Merlin... why does he have to be so god-damn gorgeous...

(HOLY SHIT. SORRY IF IM SLOW TO RESPOND, BUT DAMN, MOCKINGJAY IS EVEN MORE INTENSE THAN A TRIPLE RAINBOW!)

Sirius suddenly looked back at the sky. "Hey! Look at that bright one! All the way over there!". He pointed enthusiastically to a star a bit away from where they'd been looking. A huge smile broke across his face.

(Bella's got me under Imperio and is making me kiss everyone from here to New Jersey. HALP.)
Remus looked to where Sirius had been pointing, and a huge blush spread across his face. "Sirius... the Dogstar... or The North Star... my favorite" he whispered at the end.

Sirius smiled. "Your favourite? Really?" he nudged Remus playfully.

Remus blushed. "Well... yeah... it is..." He bit his lip, and, feeling courageous, leaned his head on Sirius' shoulder.

Sirius blushed. Carefully, cautiously, he put his arm around Remus' shoulders. "I-I love you, Moony..."

Remus looked up, wide-eyed. "You.. you do? Are you sure?" He couldn't remember how long he'd wanted Sirius to say those words.

(He hasn't said that before? What? What aboot Valentines Day?)

(I know. After I posted that, I was like, ". . . YOU. Are a dumbass." Just roll with it, ja? Because I'm a stupid idiot? PLEASE? *pout*)

(*Rolling with it*)

"Of course I do. You're so insecure." Sirius rolled his eyes. He kisses the top of Remus' head. "It's quite endearing."

Remus blushed, but nuzzled Sirius' shoulder. "Well, I have good reason to be. You're the infamous Sirius Black. I assume you don't love any of the nameless girls you've snogged. For a while, I thought I was just another nameless person..."
